Ranch Sauce Recipe
Ranch sauce is one of the most famous sauces in US cuisine. Ranch sauce recipes vary slightly, but it is usually made with buttermilk, sour cream or yogurt and mayonnaise. Fresh or dried parsley and dill, fresh chives, garlic, ground mustard seeds and black pepper are used as flavorings.
I made some changes in line with my conditions and according to my taste. Chives are not an ingredient that I always have at home or that I can always find easily in the supermarket. That's why I use onions instead of chives. If you live in Turkey, I guess this is the case for you as well. But if you can find it and you want to stick to the original recipe as much as possible, you can use a pinch of chopped chives instead of onions.
Since I couldn't find buttermilk, I make homemade buttermilk by mixing milk and lemon juice. I used yogurt instead of sour cream as it is not an ingredient that I can easily find in Spain as well. If you want to use sour cream, you can use the same amount instead of yogurt.
I don't use mustard because I don't like it, but if you like it and you have it on hand, you can add dry mustard with the tip of a teaspoon.
What Is Ranch Sauce Served With?
Ranch sauce can be served with any dish that can be eaten dipped in any sauce, such as ketchup and mayonnaise. The prime example is undoubtedly crispy french fries. Right after, there are chicken nuggets, and baked crispy eggplant.
Tips and Tricks of Ranch Sauce
I have only one trick to give about the sauce. After preparing it, be sure to taste it and make the necessary adjustments. According to the density of the ingredients you use, the taste of the sauce will change. Therefore, the flavor you will get may change each time. Considering this, you can optimize the taste for yourself by adding yogurt if it tastes and feels too oily, add mayonnaise if it tastes too yogurt, or add other ingredients if necessary.
