Kohlrabi Remoulade Recipe
Remoulade is a mayonnaise-based sauce. It is a sauce that can be served with French fries or anything that can be eaten by dipping in ketchup/mayonnaise. Although its contents can vary greatly, there are some essential ingredients. We can count these indispensable ingredients as mayonnaise, djon mustard, lemon/vinegar and garlic.
Apart from this, the materials added, especially the granular ones, can vary greatly. Celery stalks, capers, spring onions, etc. can be optional rather than mandatory.
I used remoulade sauce to marinate the kohlrabi in this recipe. Since kohlrabi is not a very intensely flavored vegetable, the salad gets its flavor from the remoulade sauce. Kohlrabi gives the salad its tender, crunchy texture. The salad reminds me of coleslaw salad in terms of taste and consistency. It is a recipe that can be made as an accompaniment to recipes such as kofte, doner or chicken nuggets.
By the way, there is something I forgot to mention when mentioning the variety of ingredients above. I used a small amount of chili peppers in the recipe, but not enough to make the sauce spicy. If you want the sauce to be spicy, you can increase the amount of chili peppers or add a small amount of hot pepper sauce.
You can also turn remoulade sauce into a salad with other vegetables instead of kohlrabi. The vegetables that first come to my mind are celery, cabbage, carrots and radishes, for example. But apart from these, you can also experiment with different vegetables.
