Canned Tomato Sauce Recipe
Ingredients
- 5 kg tomatoes, diced,
- 1 kg green peppers, chopped,
- 5 onions, chopped,
- 10 cloves of garlic, garted,
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil,
- Salt.
Preparation
- Heat oil in a large pan,
- Add onions, garlic and peppers and cook until tender,
- Add tomatoes and cook for 45 mins, occasionally stirring,
- Add salt and stir,
- At this point you can use a hand blender if you like your sauces smooth,
- Scoop the mixture into the jars,
- Seal the jars tight,
- Place the jars into a pressure canner or pressure cooker and cover with hot water,
- Cover the lid and cook for 3-5 mins after the steam comes out,
- Remove the jars from water and dry with a towel,
- Turn the jars upside down and set aside overnight,
- Keep in a cool place away from sun.
