Caramel Sauce Pancakes
Serving : 7-8 pancakes
Ingredients
For Pancake;
- 1 egg,
- 2 tbsps sugar,
- 1 cup milk,
- 2-3 drops of lemon juice,
- 1 cup flour,
- 1 tbsp cocoa powder,
- 1/2 tsp baking soda,
- 1 tsps vegetable oil.
For Caramel Sauce;
- 1/2 cup sugar,
- 1/2 cup milk,
- 1/2 cup heavy cream.
Preparation
- For sauce in a large pan melt sugar,
- Stirring off and on, cook until it gets a dark brown colour,
- Add milk and cream and stir fast (sugar can harden at this point, don't bother),
- Keep stirring and cook until sugar melts again,
- Cook until desired consistency,
- Transfer into a jar,
- For pancakes add the lemon juice into the milk and stir, set aside until set (becomes buttermilk),
- Beat eggs together with sugar,
- Add buttermilk and beat,
- Add flour, cocoa powder and baking soda and beat until you reach a smooth batter,
- Pour the vegetable oil into a pan, heat,
- Pour 1 scoop of batter at a time, cook until set,
- Turn upside down, cook until set,
- Do the same thing for the remaining batter,
- Place a piece any fruit you like on top of the pancakes and pour caramel sauce over.
