Caramel Sauce Pancakes


For Pancake;

  • 1 egg,
  • 2 tbsps sugar,
  • 1 cup milk,
  • 2-3 drops of lemon juice,
  • 1 cup flour,
  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder,
  • 1 tsp baking powder,
  • 3 tsps vegetable oil.

For Caramel Sauce;

  • 1 cup sugar,
  • 1 cup boiling water,
  • 1 tbsp butter,
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream.


  1. For sauce in a large pan melt butter and sugar together,
  2. Stirring off and on, cook until it gets a dark brown colour,
  3. Add boiling water and cream and stir fast (sugar can harden at this point, don’t bother),
  4. Keep stirring and cook until sugar melts again,
  5. Cook until desired consistency,
  6. Transfer into a jar,
  7. For pancakes drop the lemon drops into the milk and stir, set aside until set (becomes buttermilk),
  8. Beat egges with sugar,
  9. Add buttermilk and beat,
  10. Add flour, cocoa powder and baking powder and beat until you reach a smooyh batter,
  11. Pour the vegetable oil into a pan, heat,
  12. Pour 1 scoop of batter at a time, cook until set,
  13. Turn upside down, cook until set,
  14. Do the same thing for the remaining batter,
  15. Place a piece of butter on top of the pancakes and pour caramel sauce over.
