Baked Tomato Sauce Chicken Recipe


Baked Tomato Sauce Chicken Recipe


  • 2 chicken breasts,
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil,
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste,
  • 1 tablespoon pepper paste,
  • 1 onion,
  • 1/2 cup water,
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 2 teaspoons dried mint,
  • Salt,
  • Black pepper,
  • 4 slices cheddar,
  • 1 handful minced dill.


  1. Cut each chicken breast in half holding the knife parallel to the counter (you will have 4 pieces of chicken in total),
  2. Season on both sides with salt and black pepper,
  3. Heat a large skillet,
  4. Add half of the oil and let it heat up as well,
  5. Shallow fry the chicken pieces on both sides over medium heat,
  6. For the sauce, finely chop the onion,
  7. Heat the rest of the oil in a saucepan,
  8. Sauté the onion until translucent,
  9. Stir in tomato and pepper paste and cook for 1-2 mins,
  10. Stir in paprika, dried mint and salt, then cook 1-2 more mins,
  11. Add 1/2 cup of water, stir and let it come to a boil, then remove from heat,
  12. Pour the sauce into one large or two small baking dishes,
  13. Place the chicken pieces inside,
  14. Place a slice of cheddar cheese on top of each chicken piece,
  15. Bake at 210 degrees celsius preheated oven until the cheese melts,
  16. Sprinkle some minced dill on top and serve.
