Traditional Bread for Eid Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups flour,
  • 1/2 cup warm milk,
  • 1 cup warm water,
  • 2 tablespoon olive oil,
  • 2 teaspoons rapid-rise yeast,
  • 2 teaspoons salt,
  • 1 tablespoon sugar,
  • Sesame seeds,
  • Black cumin seeds,
  • 1 egg yolk.

Preparation:

  1. Mix together flour, yeast, salt and sugar in a bowl,
  2. Start adding the warm milk and water while mixing with your hands,
  3. Mix until everything comes together to form a sticky dough,
  4. After the dough comes together, add in the oil and knead,
  5. Cover with kitchen towel and let rest for 30 mins,
  6. Flour your hands and knead the dough one more time,
  7. Place the dough on a greased baking dish and roll it out into a circle,
  8. Brush with egg yolk,
  9. Make square patterns on top using a knife,
  10. Sprinkle on some sesame and black cumin seeds,
  11. Bake at 190 degrees celsius preheated oven for 30 mins.
