  • 2 eggs (1 egg yolk will be brushed in top),
  •  1 cup milk,
  • 100 gr butter,
  • 1/2 cup olive oil,
  • 5 cups flour,
  • 40 gr. rapid-rise yeast (1 pack),
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar,
  • 2 teaspoons salt,


  • 3 medium size boiled potatoes,
  • 1/2 cup grated cheddar,
  • 2 teaspoons butter,
  • 2 teaspoons paprika,
  • 3 teaspoons salt.
  • 1 teaspoons curry powder.
  • Poppy seeds


  1. Melt the butter in a small saucepan and mix it with the oil,
  2. Remove from heat and stir in the milk,
  3. In a large bow, stir together the flour, salt, sugar and yeast,
  4. Create an indent in the centre and place 1 egg and 1 egg yolk, then start mixing with your hands,
  5. Add in the milk mixture slowly while mixing with your hands, and knead until everything comes together to form a soft non-sticky dough,
  6. Cover and let it rest for 45 mins somewhere warm,
  7. Mash the potatoes,
  8. Stir in the cheddar, butter, salt, paprika and curry powder,
  9. Pull clementine size pieces from the risen dough, press using your palm, place some of the potato filling in the centre and mold the dough around the filling,
  10. Place all the stuffed pastries on a baking dish lined with parchment paper and let them rest for 20-25 more mins,
  11. Brush with egg yolk and sprinkle on some poppy seeds,
  12. Bake at 200 degrees celsius preheated oven until golden brown.
