Fried Cheese Pastry Recipe


  • 3 cups flour,
  • 1 cup warm water,
  • 2 teaspoons rapid-rise yeast,
  • 2 teaspoons sugar,
  • 2 teaspoons salt,
  • Vegetable oil to fry,
  • Cheddar cheese / swiss cheese.


  1. In a bowl mix together flour, sugar and yeast,
  2. Start adding the water slowly while mixing,
  3. Add salt and continue mixing,
  4. Mix and knead with your hands (add more flour or water if you need) until everything comes together to form a soft dough,
  5. Sprinkle some water on top of the dough and cover it with a kitchen towel,
  6. Let it rest for 30-45 mins,
  7. Pull small pieces out of the dough and place a piece of cheese in the centre, then mold the dough around the cheese to form a smooth ball,
  8. Place the prepared balls on a kitchen towel sprinkled with flour,
  9. Let them rest for 30 mins,
  10. Heat the oil well in a frying pan,
  11. Press the balls lightly to flatten, and place in the hot oil,
  12. Fry on both sides until golden brown.
