Peasant Soup Recipe
Serving : 4 Servings
Ingredients
- 1onion, chopped,
- 1 carrot, peeled and diced,
- 1 tbsp butter,
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil,
- 1 tbsp flour,
- 2 tsps ground chilli,
- 1 tbsp thick bulghur,
- 1 tbsp rice,
- 1 tbsp green lentil,
- 1 tbsp red lentil,
- 1 handful of pasta,
- 2 tsps dried mint,
- 5 cups water at room temperature,
- Sal to taste.
Preparation
- Melt butter in a deep pan and add oil,
- Add onions and cook, stirring until tender,
- Add carrots and cook for 2-3 mins.,
- Add flour and chilli and stir,
- Add water and stir fast,
- Wash and drain bulghur, rice and lentils and add to the soup,
- Cook until they start to become tender and add pastas and salt,
- Cook until all ingredients are tender,
- Add dried mint, stir and remove from heat,
- You can can roast come chilli in vegetable oil for topping.
