Braid Dough Basket Recipe with Video
Serving : 3 Pieces
Ingredients
- 2 eggs (yolk of one is for topping),
- 2 cups flour,
- 3/4 cup warm milk+water mixture,
- 2 tsps instant yeast,
- 1 tbsp sugar,
- 2 tsps salt.
Preparation
- Place flour in a large bowl,
- Stir in yeast, sugar and salt,
- Make a cavity in the centre and add, 1 egg and 1 egg yolk,
- Start mixing with your hands while slowly adding warm water and milk,
- Make a soft, elastic dough,
- Cover the dough with kitchen towel and let it rest for 45 mins to rise,
- After it has risen, deflate the dough and knead for 1-2 mins,
- Pull small mandarine size pieces from the dough and roll in rectengular shape,
- Cut 1 cm strips,
- Grease a heat-resistant bowl with butter,
- Set 5-6 strips on the back of the bowl transverse,
- Braid the remaining strips around the bowl as seen in the pic. (also see the video here),
- When all the bowls are braided make 3 seperate breainds and place around the down side of the bowls,
- Bake at 160 degrees celsius preheated oven until golden,
- Remove bowls from braid basket when they become room temperature,
- Serve whatever you want inside.
