Baked Creamy Potato Recipe
Although it takes time to wait, it is a very easy recipe to make cream potatoes. Cream is not pastry cream or whipped cream sold in powder form. They already have their own names that make it clear what they are; pastry cream and whipped cream. These aren't called creams on their own (don't say what the fuck is this girl talking about, this is one of the most common questions I get).
Cream is a dairy product made from milk cream. It is found in the dairy product cabinets of grocery stores. It is sold in 200 ml or 1 lt packs. It is used in pastas such as pasta with mushroom sauce, in desserts such as banana pudding and in cakes such as medovik cake. If you whisk the cream and powdered sugar together, you will get homemade whipped cream. You can also make Mascarpone cheese at home using cream and lemon juice.
The density of creams differs from brand to brand. The cream of some brands is in a very liquid form like milk and affects the result negatively, especially in desserts (and in making mascarpone), preventing the desired consistency from being reached. I prefer Sek or Tikveşli brands in Turkey because they have a thick consistency.
As for the recipe... As I said at the beginning, it's a pretty simple recipe. The only thing you need to pay attention to is not to slice the potatoes too thickly (if it is thick, the cooking time will be longer) and to adjust the cooking time well. I wrote the time that was enough for me. But this time depends on your potatoes, oven and the thickness of the container you use, thermal conductivity, etc. will vary accordingly. Do not depend on the time, cook in a controlled manner. You can check if the potatoes are cooked by inserting a toothpick or fork into them.

- Erika: Should the potato’s be pre-cooked before hand? I didnt and they just seemed to take took too long to cook. September 15, 2020 4:41 am
- Kevser: The potatoes are not pre-cooked. Normally it doesn't take that long, you could have chopped them too thick. September 21, 2020 6:26 am
