Turkish Pilaf Stuffing Recipe Turkish Pilaf Stuffing Recipe


  • 1 cup rice, washed and drained,
  • 1 onion, chopped,
  • 1 tsp tomato paste,
  • 1 tbsp pine nuts,
  • 1 tbsp currants,
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon,
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper,
  • 1 tsp allspice,
  • 2 handful of chopped parsley,
  • 1 tbsp butter,
  • 2 tbsps vegetable oil,
  • 2,5 cups boiling water,
  • Salt to taste.


  1. Heat butter and vegetable oil in a large pan,
  2. Add onions and fry well,
  3. Add pine nuts and fry for 1-2 mins.,
  4. Add tomato paste and stir well,
  5. Add rice and fry, constantly stirring, for 5 mins.,
  6. Add cinnamon, black pepper, salt, allspice, currants and parsley and stir,
  7. Add water, stir,
  8. Cover the lid and cook until the rice is tender,
  9. Remove from heat and set aside for 10-15 mins. before serving.
