Perişan Kurabiye Recipe
I don't like recipes with negative connotations, like perişan kurabiye which means shabby cookies. Actually, it's not I don't like the recipes, I just fon't like their names. I think it is unfair to call beautiful and delicious dishes with negative names just based on their appearance. But on the other hand, even if I call shabby cookies for example "cookies with plenty of ingredients", everyone will search for shabby cookies and will not be able to find the recipe they are looking for. That being the case, there is nothing I can do.
Shabby cookies get the name from the fact that it cannot be shaped properly due to its abundance of ingredients. The dough is like classic cookies, it has nothing special. It contains lots of hazelnuts, chocolate chips and raisins. You can also use walnuts or almonds instead of hazelnuts. Instead of chocolate chips, you can use chocolate pieces that you cut into small pieces with a knife.
The amount of sugar in the dough is not too much, but when chocolate chips and raisins are added, it becomes just right. However, if your palate is used to plenty of sugar, you can increase the amount of sugar. If you don't have powdered sugar on hand, you can turn it into powdered sugar using a food processor.
The cookies in the photo are about 3/4 the size of a tablespoon. You can make them smaller or larger if you wish. Only baking time will vary. But in any case, you won't need to do anything about it since you need to bake them in a controlled manner anyway.
