Grissini (Breadsticks) Recipe


  • 3  cups flour, all purpose,
  • 1 cup lukewarm water,
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil,
  • 2 tsps instant yeast,
  • 1 tbsp sugar,
  • 1 tsp salt,
  • 2 tbsp poppy seeds,
  • 2 tbsp flaxseed.


  1. In a big bowl add the water, vegetableoil, sugar and yeast and mix all together,
  2. Add flour gradually and start kneading,
  3. Add flour and knead until you reach an elastic dough,
  4. Cover the dough with a cloth and let rest in a warm place for about 30 to 40 minutes,
  5. Knead again and split into two pieces,
  6. Add poppy seeds into one pieces and flaxseeds into the other and knead well,
  7. Place the dough on your floured surface and cut the in small pieces and roll out into pencil size sticks,
  8. Place the bread sticks on a cookie sheet,
  9. Bake in a 190 C degrees preheated oven until they are nice and golden brown, remove from oven,
  10. When they become at room temperature bake again in 100 C degrees for about 15–20 minutes.
