Grissini (Breadsticks) Recipe
Ingredients
- 3 cups flour, all purpose,
- 1 cup lukewarm water,
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil,
- 2 tsps instant yeast,
- 2 tsps sugar,
- 1/2 tsp salt,
- 1/2 cup unshelled sunflower seeds,
- 1/2 cup ground walnuts.
Preparation
- In a big bowl add the water, vegetable oil, sugar and yeast and mix all together,
- Add flour gradually and start kneading,
- Add flour and knead until you reach an elastic dough,
- Cover the dough with a cloth and let rest in a warm place for about 30 to 40 minutes,
- Knead again and split into two pieces,
- Add sunflower seeds into one pieces and ground walnuts into the other and knead well,
- Place the dough on your floured surface and cut the in small pieces and roll out into pencil size sticks,
- Place the bread sticks on a cookie sheet,
- Bake in a 190 C degrees preheated oven until they are nice and golden brown, remove from oven,
- When they become at room temperature bake again in 100 C degrees for about 15–20 minutes.
