Turkish Flat Bread With Beef and Mozzarella

Serving : 6 Pieces

Ingredients

For Dough;

  • 1/2 cup lukewarm water,
  • 1/2 cup lukewarm milk,
  • 2,5 cups flour,
  • 2 tsps active dry yeast,
  • 1 tbsp sugar,
  • 2 tsps salt.

For Topping;

  • 500 g fatless beef, diced,
  • 6 green peppers, chopped,
  • 2 tomatoes, diced,
  • 1 tbsp butter,
  • Salt to taste,
  • 2 cups grated mozzarella,
  • 2 tbsps vegetable oil.

Preparation

  1. In a mixing bowl sift flour, yeast, sugar and salt,
  2. Add milk and water and combine well,
  3. Knead the dough until smooth and elastic and give a ball shape,
  4. Cover the dough ball with a clean damp towel and put aside for about an hour until it doubles in size,
  5. In the meantime prepare the topping,
  6. In a skillet melt butter,
  7. Add diced beef and cook until they dissolve and absorb their water again,
  8. Add chopped green peppers and saute for 1-2 mins,
  9. Add diced tomatoes and cook until they absorb their water,
  10. Add salt and remove from heat,
  11. When the dough doubles knead for 5 minutes and cut in 6 pieces,
  12. Knead and give a ball shape to each,
  13. Flatten the balls with your hands first and then roll in an oval shape with a roller,
  14. Spread the topping on each dough evenly and fold the long sides towards inside and twist the ends,
  15. Sprinkle some flour in a cooking tray and arrange flat breads on the tray,
  16. Bake in a 190 C degrees preheated oven until the edges golden,
  17. Remove from oven and spread mozzarella cheese on top,
  18. Bake again until the cheese melts.
