Tomato Focaccia Recipe

Ingredients

  • 3 cups water,
  • 1 cup warm water,
  • 4 tsps instant yeast,
  • 1 tbsp sugar,
  • 1 tsp salt,
  • 2 tbsps olive oil,
  • 2 tsps dried thyme,
  • 1 clove of garlic, grated,
  • 7-8 cherry tomatoes, washed and cut in halves.

Preparation

  1. In a deep bowl mix yeast, warm water, sugar and 1 tbsp olive oil,
  2. Add flour step by step and knead the dough gently,
  3. Add salt and knead until you reach to an elastic dough,
  4. Make the dough a ball and cover with a damp cloth and set aside for 45 mins.,
  5. Knead the dough once again,
  6. Grease a 22*22 cm baking dish and place the dough into it,
  7. Using your hands lay the dough into the baking dish,
  8. In a small bowl combine the remaining olive oil, grated garlic and thyme,
  9. Brush top of the dough with this mixture,
  10. Place halved tomatoes on top,
  11. Bake in a 190 C degrees preheated oven until golden.
