  • 1 tbsp butter,
  • 1 tbsp flour,
  • 2 cups milk,
  • 1/2 cup edam cheese, grated,
  • 1/2 cup gouda cheese, grated,
  • 1/2 cup gruyere cheese, grated.


  1. Melt the butter in a pan and add flour,
  2. Cook, constantly stirring until it turns to a light brown colour,
  3. Remove the pan, set aside for 5 mins.,
  4. Add milk in small amount at a time and stir fast, until smooth,
  5. Add grated cheese and cook in low heat until the cheese melts,
  6. You can use the sauce with meat, chicken, pasta or as a dip sauce.
