Baked Sweet Potato Recipe
Sweet potatoes can not be found easily and in affordable prices in Turkey and I was not sure if it is appropriate for Turkish palate. For that reason I have never shared sweet potato recipes for years. But recently a few people have asked for sweet potato recipes. As the number of people who have moved abroad raised in recent years, the number of the people who met and loved sweet potatoes have also raised.
As such, I started to work on the recipes with sweet potatoes and my first recipe with sweet potato was baked sweet potatoes with chickpeas. It was at least a recipe that we are accustomed to (see Turkish kumpir recipe). With the same motto, I wanted to share the recipe for baked sweet potato today. Although it is not different than the baked potato recipe we know, the taste is quite different due to the nature of the sweet potato.
Another thing that is different is that, it doesn't fit perfectly with ketchup like French fries. If you want to eat them with ketchup, of course you can, but I think sweet potato fries are like soulmates with yogurt. They are like pasta-cheese, coffee-chocolate, peanut butter-jelly. Whether to add garlic to the yogurt or not is entirely up to you.
I told you what goes with the baked sweet potatos and now let's talk about what the baked sweet potatoes go well. You can serve baked sweet potatoes with what you serve French fries with. Chicken burgers or fried chicken drumsticks are the first things that come to my mind, for example. It is also possible to add color to the traditional kofte-potato duo with baked sweet potatoes.
Of course, you don't necessarily have to make the baked sweet potato to accompany something. You can also eat them alone as a snack or as a main course.
