Vegan Butter Substitute Recipe

Vegan Butter Substitute Recipe

This is a vegan recipe which also perfect for non vegans. The lead actor is aquafaba again. After the vegan mousse and vegan cake recipes, I wanted to share the butter recipe I mentioned earlier. I was very, very prejudiced when I tried it first, you can get the same taste if you put coconut oil on bread and eat it, I was thinking. Now when I bake bread, my hand goes to this jar first. It goes really well with freshly baked bread.

I love butter in pastries and especially in cookies. Love remains mild, I'm even in love with the smell of butter cookies baked in the oven. But at no time in my life did I eat raw butter. I couldn't love the taste of it. In my childhood, we all had that dark period of spreading margarine on bread unfortunately. For the first time in my life after that time, I'm eating bread with butter and enjoying it instead of feeling guilty. It doesn't taste like real butter, so don't have any expectations like that. Don't even have any expectations. Just make and taste it and decide what it looks like.

Shelf Life

The butter I prepared about two months ago is still in the refrigerator and had no loss of flavor. So it's shelf life is quite long.

The Consistency

When you first prepare, the consistency is almost liquid which makes it possible to pour it into the jar. The next day it comes to the spreadable consistency you see on the pics. On the third day, it becomes more solid, but it's still spreadable when you get it out of the fridge.

Can it be used in pastries?

You can use this vegan butter for any kind of pastry. Only if you are going to use it in sweet recipes preparing it without salt would be better.

The jar you see in the photo is filled with the following amount of ingredients. It has a total of 10-15 tablespoons of ingredients in it, you can imagine more or less how much butter you'll get. For me for the first trial it is quite a suitable amount. A smaller amount of ingredients will make it difficult to process. If you decide you like it after the first trial, then you can make large quantities by increasing the ingredients proportionally.
