Savory Dill Cookies Recipe
Serving : 20 cookies
Ingredients
- 100 g butter at room temperature ,
- 2 eggs (one yolk for topping),
- 1 tsp mahlep,
- 1/2 tsp baking powder,
- 2 handful of finely chopped dill,
- 2-2,5 cups of flour,
- 4 tablespoons blue poppy seeds.
Preparation
- Combine butter, 1 egg, 1 egg white, salt, baking powder, mahlep and dill in a mixing bowl,
- Add the flour gradually and knead until you get a soft dough that does not stick to your hand,
- Roll the dough over the counter and turn it into a cylinder of 3-4 cm in diameter,
- With a brush or with your hand, spread the egg yolk around the cylinder,
- Take the cylinder into a baking pan and cover with poppy seeds,
- Put the pan into the freezer for 30 mins.,
- Remove it from the freezer and slice it with a sharp knife,
- Place the cookies into baking pan covered with parchement paper,
- Bake the cookies into a 180 C degrees pre-heated oven until slightly golden,
- Turn off the oven,
- Keep the cookies in the oven for 10 mins. more.
