Savory Dill Cookies Recipe

Serving : 20 cookies

Ingredients

  • 100 g butter at room temperature ,
  • 2 eggs (one yolk for topping),
  • 1 tsp mahlep,
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder,
  • 2 handful of finely chopped dill,
  • 2-2,5 cups of flour,
  • 4 tablespoons blue poppy seeds.

Preparation

  1. Combine butter, 1 egg, 1 egg white, salt, baking powder, mahlep and dill in a mixing bowl,
  2. Add the flour gradually and knead until you get a soft dough that does not stick to your hand,
  3. Roll the dough over the counter and turn it into a cylinder of 3-4 cm in diameter,
  4. With a brush or with your hand, spread the egg yolk around the cylinder,
  5. Take the cylinder into a baking pan and cover with poppy seeds,
  6. Put the pan into the freezer for 30 mins.,
  7. Remove it from the freezer and slice it with a sharp knife,
  8. Place the cookies into baking pan covered with parchement paper,
  9. Bake the cookies into a 180 C degrees pre-heated oven until slightly golden,
  10. Turn off the oven,
  11. Keep the cookies in the oven for 10 mins. more.
