Freezer Borek Recipe
Serving : 25-30 Pieces
Ingredients
- 3 yufka leaves,
- 7 medium sized potatoes,
- 1 cup of water Milk,
- 1 egg,
- 1 heaping spoon of butter,
- 1 tsp pepper flakes,
- Salt to taste,
- 1 cup of finely grated cheddar cheese.
Preparation
- Boil, peel and smash potatoes with a potato smasher or fork (do not use rondo or blender),
- Add the butter to the potatoes and stir well,
- In a different bowl beat eggs, milk, salt and pepper flakes,
- Add the mixture to the potatoes and mix quickly,
- Spread one of the yufka leaves on the counter,
- Spread 1/3 of the potato mixture as a thin layer on the yufka,
- Spread the second yufka over,
- Spread half of the remaining mixture on the second yufka,
- Spread the last yufka on top of the mixture,
- Roll the three yufkas together,
- Cut it in half and place it on a baking sheet and set aside in the freezer for 2 hours,
- Remove it from the freezer and slice thinly and lay it horizontally on the oven tray covered with parchement paper,
- Toss the shredded cheddar cheese on the boreks,
- Bake in a 170-degree pre-heated oven until golden.
