Dried Okra Dish Recipe


  • 50 g (2 handful) dried okra,
  • 2 cups boiled chickpeas,
  • 1 onion,
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste,
  • 2 tsps ground red pepper,
  • 2 cloves of garlic,
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil,
  • 2tbsps pomegranate molasses,
  • Salt to taste,
  • 5 cups hot water.


  1. Boil the okras for 5 mins. and drain,
  2. Remove the thread,
  3. Chop onion and roast with vegetable oil,
  4. Add chopped garlic and tomateo paste and roast for 5 min.s in low heat,
  5. Add ground pepper and stir well,
  6. Add 5 cups hot water and okras and cook until the okras are tender,
  7. Add boiled chickpeas, salt and pomegranate molasses and cook for 5 mins.,
  8. Remove from heat and serve hot.
