Doughnut Recipe
Serving : 15-20 Pieces
Ingredients
- 1 egg,
- 1 tablespoon butter,
- 1 cup warm milk,
- 10 g rapid-rise yeast,
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar,
- 4-5 cups flour,
- Vegetable oil to fry,
- 150 g chocolate,
- 1/4 cup heavy cream,
- Sugar, cinnamon, chocolate and sprinkles to coat.
Preparation
- In a deep bowl, whisk together milk, melted butter, sugar and yeast,
- Add flour part by part and combine everything together to form a soft non-sticky dough,
- Cover the dough with a kitchen towel and let it rest in a warm spot until it becomes double the size (45-60 min.),
- Cut the dough in half,
- Roll one piece out on a well-floured surface,
- Cut doughnut shapes out of the dough using 2 different size cookie / biscuit cutters,
- Cover the shapes and let them rest for 30 mins,
- Heat oil in a pan with high sides and fry the doughnuts on both sides,
- Drain excess oil in a fine sieve,
- Mix some sugar and cinnamon in a bowl and dip the warm doughnuts into it,
- To make chocolate glazed doughnuts, melt some chocolate and heavy cream in the microwave and dip one side of the doughnuts into it, then decorate with colorful sprinkles, rose petals, grated coconuts, etc.
