Spinach Manti Recipe

Spinach Manti Recipe with Video

Serving : 4 Servings

Ingredients

  • 4 cups of all purpose flour,
  • 1 egg,
  • 1 cup of lukewarm water
  • 200 g of spinach,
  • 1 teaspoon of salt,

Filling;

  • 250 g of ground beef,
  • 1 onion,
  • Sal to taste,
  • Pepper.
Sauce;
  • 250 g of yoghurt,
  • 1 clove of garlic,
  • Salt,
  • 4 tbsps of olive oil,
  • 1 tablespoon of tomato paste,
  • 1 teaspoon of paprika,
  • 1/2 cup of water.

How to make steps

Preparation

  1. Take the spinach into a non stick pan,
  2. Stir fry until it release water and then the water evaporates,
  3. Take the spinach into a food processor and pulse until pureed,
  4. For the dough take water, egg, spinach puree and salt,
  5. Add flour gradually until you reach a dough that doesn't stick to your hand,
  6. Cover the dough and let it rest for 10 mins,
  7. In the meantime, finely chop the onion,
  8. Mix together the ground beef, onion, salt and black pepper,
  9. Cut the dough into 4 pieces (cover the rest with dump kitchen towel while working with the first piece),
  10. Roll the first piece out using a rolling pan on a lightly floured surface to a 0.5 mm thick circle,
  11. Cut into 1x1 cm squares,
  12. Place a tiny amount of filling inside each square and fold from the corners,
  13. Prepare the rest of the dough,
  14. Drop them in salted boiling water and cook until they rise on the surface of the water,
  15. For the sauce, crush the garlic clove and mix them with yoghurt along with some salt,
  16. Heat the olive oil,
  17. Stir in the tomato paste and cook for 2 mins,
  18. Add in the paprika, stir and add the water,
  19. Bring to a boil and remove from heat,
  20. Serve the manti with garlic yoghurt sauce on top along with a small drizzle of tomato paste sauce (you can also sprinkle on some dried mint or any other spices you like).
