Turkish Cheese Manti (Turkish-Style Ravioli) Recipe
Serving : 4 Servings
Ingredients
- 3 cups flour,
- 1 egg,
- 3/4 cup warm water,
- 1 teaspoon salt,
- 1 cup strained cottage cheese,
- Water and salt to boil,
- 2 tbsp butter, chopped walnuts and chopped parsley for topping.
Preparation
- Place the flour in a large bowl and make a cavity in the centre,
- Add the salt and egg, then start stirring,
- Add the warm water slowly and carefully while mixing with your hands until you get a hard non-sticky dough,
- Cover the dough with a dump kitchen towel and let it rest for 10 mins,
- Divide the dough into 3 pieces,
- Roll one section out using a rolling pan on a lightly floured surface to 0.5 mm thickness,
- Cut the dough sheet into 2-3 cm squares,
- Place a dollop of cheese on the centre of each square and fold from 1 corner to form triangles,
- Repeat this for the other two sections,
- In a pot, boil water with 3 teaspoons of salt,
- Drop the triangles into the boiling water and cook until the triangles rise to the surface of the water,
- Drain and place on a serving platter,
- Melt the butter and pour on top,
- Sprinkle chopped walnuts and chopped parsley and serve.
