Turkish Cheese Manti (Turkish-Style Ravioli) Recipe

Serving : 4 Servings

Ingredients

  • 3 cups flour,
  • 1 egg,
  • 3/4 cup warm water,
  • 1 teaspoon salt,
  • 1 cup strained cottage cheese,
  • Water and salt to boil,
  • 2 tbsp butter, chopped walnuts and chopped parsley for topping.

Preparation

  1. Place the flour in a large bowl and make a cavity in the centre,
  2. Add the salt and egg, then start stirring,
  3. Add the warm water slowly and carefully while mixing with your hands until you get a hard non-sticky dough,
  4. Cover the dough with a dump kitchen towel and let it rest for 10 mins,
  5. Divide the dough into 3 pieces,
  6. Roll one section out using a rolling pan on a lightly floured surface to 0.5 mm thickness,
  7. Cut the dough sheet into 2-3 cm squares,
  8. Place a dollop of cheese on the centre of each square and fold from 1 corner to form triangles,
  9. Repeat this for the other two sections,
  10. In a pot, boil water with 3 teaspoons of salt,
  11. Drop the triangles into the boiling water and cook until the triangles rise to the surface of the water,
  12. Drain and place on a serving platter,
  13. Melt the butter and pour on top,
  14. Sprinkle chopped walnuts and chopped parsley and serve.
