Turkey Drumstick With Pilaf Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 turkey drumsticks,
  • 1 cup rice,
  • 1 onion,
  • 1 tablespoon butter,
  • 1 teaspoon tomato paste,
  • 1 tablespoon pine nuts,
  • 1 tablespoon raisins,
  • 1 tablespoon minced parsley,
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon,
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper,
  • 1 teaspoon allspice,
  • 1 teaspoon granulated sugar,
  • Salt,
  • 2 cups hot water.

Preparation:

  1. Boil the drumsticks in pressure cooker until softened (approximately 1 hour),
  2. Finely chop the onion,
  3. Melt the butter in a saucepan, add the onions and cook over medium heat until translucent,
  4. Add the pine nuts and stir for 1-2 mins,
  5. Add the tomato paste and stir for 1 min,
  6. Add the rinsed rice and stir for 5 mins,
  7. Add the minced parsley, sugar, salt, raisins, spices and salt, stir well and remove from heat,
  8. Transfer the rice mixture into a baking dish and flatten,
  9. Place the drumsticks on top,
  10. Pour 1 ladleful of the turkey’s boiling water over the rice mixture,
  11. Then also pour two cups of hot water,
  12. Bake at 180 degrees celsius until the rice absorbs all the water and is fully softened,
  13. Turn the heat off, and let the baking dish sit in the oven for 15 mins to rest.
