Oreo Biscuits Recipe

Oreo is one of the most beloved biscuits worldwide. Making Oreo style biscuits at home may sound challenging, but it’s actually quite simple and enjoyable. Plus, knowing exactly what goes into these delicious homemade treats gives an extra sense of confidence when eating them. Store-bought biscuits often contain additives, palm oil, or excessive sugar, whereas the homemade version is more natural and can easily be adjusted to suit your taste.
One of the best parts of this recipe is the use of clarified butter, which gives the biscuits a delicate, melt in the mouth crispness. The most important thing to pay attention to when working with the dough is rolling it out to the right thickness. If it’s too thin, the biscuits may lose their shape when transferring them to the baking tray; if it’s too thick, they won’t pair well with the cream filling. About 0.5 mm thickness is ideal for achieving both a crisp texture and a balanced biscuit to cream ratio.
As for the filling, it offers a more refined flavor compared to store-bought versions. The soft, slightly tangy taste of cream cheese is balanced with powdered sugar and combined with vanilla to create a rich yet not overly heavy filling. This way, each bite starts with a crisp biscuit and finishes with a smooth, velvety cream.
I’m sure these homemade Oreo style biscuits will become a favorite not only for children but for adults as well. You can serve them with milk for kids, or alongside tea or coffee for adults.
They make a practical treat for coffee breaks, gatherings, or afternoon tea. These biscuits also develop a better texture and flavor after resting in the fridge, so they can easily be prepared in advance and served the next day saving you time.
If you’d like to experiment, here are a few ideas: you can add cinnamon or coffee powder to the dough for a deeper flavor, or mix some orange zest into the cream instead of vanilla for a refreshing twist. For chocolate lovers, dipping the edges of the biscuits in melted dark chocolate and letting them set is a great alternative presentation. You can also try a completely different flavor variation, such as lemon cream-filled biscuits.
In the end, these homemade Oreo-style biscuits not only resemble the classic look but also elevate your baking skills. And I can confidently say that once you try making them yourself, you may not want to go back to store-bought ones.
