Chocolate Chip Vegan Cake Recipe
Making vegan cakes seems impossible to many people, as egg is considered one of the indispensable ingredients of cake making. As a matter of fact, it is not so, but of course, it is not so easy to achieve the perfect consistency. Banana is a frequently used ingredient as an alternative to egg in vegan cakes. However, using bananas alone is not enough to make a good vegan cake. In general, no ingredient alone will bring perfect results for any recipe. For best results, all ingredients used in the recipe should be used in appropriate amounts.
Egg is an ingredients used as a binder in cakes. In other words, it ensures that all other ingredients stay together and the cake does not fall apart. But it doesn't do it alone. Gluten in the flour and oil are also ingredients that prevent falling apart. In order to benefit from gluten, it is necessary to use enough flour in the recipe. Oil, on the other hand, prevents the dough from being dry and contributes to not falling apart. This is the reason why I used a little more oil in this recipe than I normally use.
By the way, although bananas are used as an alternative to eggs in this vegan cake recipe, you don't have to use an egg substitute in every vegan cake recipe. For example, in the crazy cake recipe, which is also a vegan cake, no alternatives are used for eggs.
The taste and smell of tahini is not predominantly felt in the vegan cake, but its presence is evident. Instead of tahini, you can use peanut, hazelnut or almond butter.
In the recipe, I used the method I used in the recipe for the chocolate chip bundt cake, which prevents chocolate chips sink in the bottom, so that the chocolate chips do not sink to the bottom. If you find it difficult to understand the technique, you can watch the video of the recipe.
You don't have to use chocolate chips. You can also make a raisin cake using raisins in the same way. Similarly, you can get different flavored cakes with different ingredients. Just make sure that the ingredients you will use will not affect the consistency of the cake batter.
