Chicken Drumsticks Covered in Puff Dough Chicken Drumsticks Covered in Puff Dough

Ingredients:

  • 8 chicken drumsticks,
  • 4 cups of water at room temperature,
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper,
  • 2 bay leaves,
  • Salt to taste,
  • 8 square puff pastry leaves,
  • 1 egg yolk,
  • Poppy seeds for topping.

Preparation:

  1. Take the puff pastries out of the refrigirator and set aside in the fridge,
  2. Meanwhile put drumsticks in a pressured cooker,
  3. Add water, black pepper, salt and bay leaves,
  4. Cover the lid and cook until the drumsticks softened,
  5. Drain the drumsticks and set aside until cool enough to handle,
  6. Remove the puff pastries from the fridge and roll to extend 2 cm from each side,
  7. Remove the skin and cartilage parts of the drumsticks,
  8. Put the drumstick onto the puff pastries and wrap well,
  9. Brush with egg yolk and sprinkle  poppyseeds,
  10. Place into a baking pan covered with parchement paper,
  11. Bake in a 180 C degrees pre-heated oven until golden.
