Orzo Pilav With Tomato Paste
Orzo pilav is a pilav whose taste is well known to anyone who has ever eaten at a cafeteria in Turkey. The taste of the cafeteria orzo pilav is not great, but very standard. It is the same everywhere, in all conditions. It is the consistency that determines whether it is good or bad. It is not preferred if it is like porridge. If it is grainy, you can't get enough of it.
In fact, the same things apply to tomato paste pasta. It is also a standard cafeteria, its taste is always the same and whether it is good or not is decided by its consistency. Yogurt goes best with both.
You can use tomato paste or pepper paste for orzo tomato paste pilav. Decide this entirely according to your taste. I write the recipes exactly the same way I make them. But your taste and habits don't have to be the same as mine. While using pepper paste in every meal, do not use tomato paste just because I recommend tomato paste in this recipe. Use whichever you like.
Which Paste Is Used In Which Meal?
When choosing paste, I use tomato paste in stews, and in bulgur dishes such as kısır or meatless cig kofte, in addition to tomato paste, I use pepper paste. Pepper paste has a sharper and more dominant flavor than tomato paste. A conflict arises when other ingredients in dishes also have a strong aroma, such as chili paste. Bulgur is a very good host for pepper paste, as it has a weaker, more subdued flavor.
It is a very suitable recipe for using pepper paste, as it doesn't have a strong flavor that will cause conflict, like bulgur. Therefore, you can easily use pepper paste. I only use tomato paste because I can get the flavor of orzo pilav with tomato paste that I have been accustomed to for years.
