  • 1 egg (the yolk is used for topping),
  • 1/2 cup lukewarm milk,
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil,
  • 2 tbsp butter, at room temperature,
  • 200 ml sparkling water,
  • 10 g instant yeast,
  • 1 tbsp sugar,
  • 1 tsp salt,
  • 5-6 cups flour,

For filling;

  • 300 g pepperoni, sliced,
  • 1 cup grated mozzarella or cheddar cheese.


  1. Pour the milk into a deep bowl,
  2. Add yeast and sugar and mix with your fingers,
  3. Add vegetable oil, butter, egg white and sparkling water and mix,
  4. Add flour one scoop at a time and start to knead,
  5. When you halve the flour, add salt,
  6. Keep adding flour and kneading,
  7. Add flour and knead until you reach a soft dough thet doesn’t stick to your hands,
  8. Make a ball and cover with a plastic warp,
  9. Set aside for 30-45 mins. until it doubles in size,
  10. Whe the dough doubles, knead again,
  11. Make 10 small balls, Flour the countertop and roll the balls into a long oval shaped leaves one at a time,
  12. Make 2-3 cm cuts in both sides with a pizza cutter,
  13. Place grated cheese along the middle part,
  14. Place a slice of pepperoni in one end, roll the cuts in both sides over the pepperoni,
  15. Then place another pepperoni and roll the cuts over it,
  16. Make the same thing for all the cuts,
  17. Place the rolled pastries into a baking sheet covered with parchement paper,
  18. Brush with egg yolk and bake in a 180 C degrees pre heated oven until golden.
