Homemade Pasta Recipe
Serving : 4 Servings
Ingredients
- 2 cups flour,
- 2 eggs,
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil,
- 1 tablespoon water (add 1-2 more tablespoons if needed),
- 1 teaspoon salt,
- Water to boil,
- 1 tablespoon butter,
- 2 teaspoons salt.
For Sauce:
- 1 onion, chopped,
- 3 tomatoes, grated,
- 1 tbsp tomato paste,
- 1 clove of garlic, minced,
- 3-4 tbsps olive oil,
- A pinch of pepper flakes, dried thyme and dried mint,
- Salt.
Preparation
- In a large bowl combine together flour and salt,
- Add in the eggs, oil and water,
- Mix everything well,
- Knead until everything comes together to form a soft non-sticky dough (add 1-2 tablespoons of water if the dough is too tough),
- Cover the dough with a wet kitchen towel and let rest for 15 mins,
- Cut the dough into three pieces and work with one piece at a time, while the others are resting under the wet towel,
- Roll out the dough on a well floured surface to you desired thinness,
- Roll the dough and cut into desired thickness,
- Unroll the pieces and hang them on a floured surface,
- Prepare the other pieces of dough in the same way,
- For sauce heat oil in a pan, add into the onion and sautee until tender,
- Add garlic and stir,
- Add the tomato paste and cook until smells well,
- Add grated tomato and cook until set,
- Add spices and salt, stir and remove from heat,
- Boil the pasta in salted water and drain,
- Blanch the cooked pasta with cold water,
- Melt the butter in the pot and place the pasta back into the pot and stir,
- Serve with the sauce over.
