  • 1 small whole chicken,
  • 2 cups of rice,
  • 2 cups boiled chickpeas,
  • 1 onion,
  • 1 tablespoon butter,
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil,
  • 2 cups of chicken broth (the broth you boiled the chicken),
  • 2 cups of hot water,
  • 1/2 cup currant,
  • 1 tsp turmeric,
  • A pinch of bşlack pepper,
  • Salt to taste.


  1. After thoroughly washing the chicken, take in a pot, add enough water, salt and halved onion and cook until the chicken is soft,
  2. Remove the chicken out of the broth and drain the broth with a strainer,
  3. Wash the rice thoroughly and drain,
  4. Take the butter and oil in a large pot and heat,
  5. Add the rice and roast until the rice starts sticking together,
  6. Add salt, turmeric, black pepper, currants, chicken broth and water,
  7. Close the lid and let it cook in low heat until the rice absorbs all the water and become tender,
  8. Remove from heat and set aside for 10-15 mims. before serving,
  9. For serving rinse a bowl,
  10. Put shredded chicken in the base then fill with rice,
  11. Turn upside down into a plate,
  12. Sprinkle turmeric over.
