Meringue Recipe
Serving : 15-20 pieces
Ingredients
- 2 egg whites,
- 1 cup confectioners sugar,
- A pinch of salt,
- Cacao powder and cinnamon and confectioners sugar mixture for topping.
Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 110 C,
- Place a parchment paper in a baking sheet,
- In a glass or metal bowl, whip egg whites and salt until foamy using an electric mixer,
- Sprinkle in sugar a little at a time, while continuing to whip at medium speed,
- When the mixture becomes stiff and shiny like satin, stop mixing,
- Transfer the mixture to a large pastry bag,
- Pipe the meringue out onto the prepared baking sheet using a large round tip or star tip,
- Place the meringues in the oven,
- Bake for 45 mins.,
- Decrease the heat to 80 C and bake for another 30 mins.,
- Turn off the heat but don't open the oven door until completely cool,
- Sprinkle cacao powder or cinnamon-confectioners sugar mixture on top,
- Store the cookies in an airtight container at room temperature.
