Custard with Mandarine Jelly Recipe

Ingredients

Custard;

  • 1 lt. whole milk,
  • 1/2 cups flour,
  • 1/2 cups starch,
  • 1/2 cup sugar,
  • 1/2 tablespoon butter,
  • 1 mastic gum,
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract,

Jelly;

  • Juices of 12 mandarines,
  • 2 tablespoon starch,
  • 4 tablespoons sugar,

To decorate;

  • 2 kiwis.

Preparation

  1. Place all the custard ingredients except the butter in a saucepan and beat using an electric hand held mixer,
  2. Place on medium heat and cook stirring until well thickened,
  3. Remove from heat, add in the butter and whisk until the butter melts,
  4. Brush a rectangular dish with cold water (this will prevent the custard sticking to the dish) and pour the custard in,
  5. After the custard cools down, place kiwi slices evenly on top,
  6. Place the jelly ingredients into a saucepan,
  7. Cook on medium heat until thickened,
  8. Remove from heat and pour it evenly over the custard and kiwi slices,
  9. Serve chilled.
