  • 3 eggs,
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar,
  • 1 tablespoon butter,
  • 3 tablespoons water,
  • 3 tablespoons flour,
  • 1 tablespoon starch,
  • 1 pinch salt,
  • 50 gr vanilla powder.


  • 350 gr milk chocolate,
  • 1/2 cup milk,
  • 1 tablespoon butter,
  • 1 egg,
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder,
  • 100 gr vanilla powder.

Decorations (mushrooms and snowman);

  • 100 gr petit beurre biscuits),
  • 1 tablespoon butter,
  • 2 tablespoons milk.


  1. Separate the egg yolks from egg whites,
  2. Add a pinch of salt to the egg whites and beat them until you get stiff peaks using an electric mixer,
  3. Add in the sugar and continue beating for 2 more mins,
  4. Melt the butter in water in bowl,
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg yolks, water-butter mixture, flour, starch and vanilla,
  6. Fold this mixture part by part into the beaten egg whites,
  7. Pour the batter into a large baking dish lined with parchment,
  8. Tap on the counter to get rid of air bubbles,
  9. Bake at 180 degrees celsius preheated oven,
  10. Remove from the oven and roll,
  11. Cover with dump kitchen towel,
  12. For the frosting, melt together the chocolate, milk and butter,
  13. Stir in the cocoa powder and vanilla,
  14. Pour half of the sauce into a separate bowl,
  15. Add 1 beaten egg into the mixture and stir constantly,
  16. Cook this mixture over boiling water for 2 mins,
  17. Let the frosting come to room temperature then refrigerate until well thickened,
  18. Unroll the cake, and spread on the frosting with the egg, then roll back,
  19. Cut 1/3 of the cake off,
  20. Cut the end of the small piece on an angle and place it on the side of the large piece as shown in the pictures,
  21. Cover this with the other half of the frosting (the frosting with no eggs),
  22. Using a fork make a pattern on the surface of the cake,
  23. Sprinkle on some shredded coconut flakes,
  24. For the decorative figures, whiz up the biscuits in a food processor or blender,
  25. Add in the melted butter and milk,
  26. Them form into any shapes you want and decorate the cake.
