Canned Green Beans Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 kg green beans,
- 2 large tomatoes,
- 1 cup water,
- 2-3 tablespoons olive oil,
- 2 teaspoons salt.
Preparation
- Cut the tomatoes into cubes,
- Heat the olive oil in a pot,
- Stir in the tomatoes and cook for 5 mins,
- Add in the salt and water,
- When the water comes to a boil, add in the chopped up green beans and stir,
- Cook lid on over low heat until the beans turn yellow,
- Scoop the mixture into the jars,
- Seal the jars tight,
- Place the jars into a pressure canner or pressure cooker and cover with hot water,
- Cover the lid and cook for 3-5 mins after the steam comes out,
- Remove the jars from water and dry with a towel,
- Turn the jars upside down and set aside overnight,
- Keep in a cool place away from sun.
