Canned Green Beans Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 kg green beans,
  • 2 large tomatoes,
  • 1 cup water,
  • 2-3 tablespoons olive oil,
  • 2 teaspoons salt.

Preparation

  1. Cut the tomatoes into cubes,
  2. Heat the olive oil in a pot,
  3. Stir in the tomatoes and cook for 5 mins,
  4. Add in the salt and water,
  5. When the water comes to a boil, add in the chopped up green beans and stir,
  6. Cook lid on over low heat until the beans turn yellow,
  7. Scoop the mixture into the jars,
  8. Seal the jars tight,
  9. Place the jars into a pressure canner or pressure cooker and cover with hot water,
  10. Cover the lid and cook for 3-5 mins after the steam comes out,
  11. Remove the jars from water and dry with a towel,
  12. Turn the jars upside down and set aside overnight,
  13. Keep in a cool place away from sun.
